For this project we were asked to use negative spaces to compose a scene

in this image I have used a plant as the main focus of the image however the background demonstrates the use of negative.

the use of the shallow depth of field creates two spaces in the image because the background is blurred which helps bring out and emphasizes the leaf.

In the majority of these images the negative space is very empty which is shown very clearly in the sky

In this image i have composed the photo so the umbrella is centered with the background still clearly visible and a part of the photo.

In this image i have made the leaf a silhouette and also the main focus of the composition however still leaving the blue sky and the greenery in the background and used it to show the photos negative space

This image’s use of negative space is shown in both sky and water and the image’s main focus is the landscape.

The image’s main focus is the boats and the sunset and the negative space is displayed in the water and the sky.
