Motion Blur

– Pick one photographer/image to analysis. Consider the following questions
– How are photographs different to films or videos? How are they similar?
– How can photographs distort or warp our sense of time?
photographs and films are both similar as they capture light to tell a story for example in the image above shows the light moving around the persons head this is similar to a film as its light being captured whilst its moving. this image is also quite different from a film as its frozen in time.
Photographs warp time by recording the past so you can look back in time. by recording photos you can warp time as its not clear when it was taken.
Issues With Motion Blur
It is hard to get a good photo with motion blur as if one the camera moves or two the subject is moving the photo will be blurry. instead of taking the photo with the camera in hand you should use a tripod which will stabilise the camera and prevent any unnecessary movement.

in this photo the blurry people moving shows time going on and things happening in realtime.
Photoshoot
Our eyes only capture life in real time whereas a camera can capture the past and the present by capturing the motion blur as the subject moves through time.
Editing photos
when you are editing the photos you can enhance the motion blur by decreasing the sharpness and decreasing the clarity of the image.
My Photos
Explain the process. How did you created your Light Paintings?
What equipment did you need?
i set the camera on a tripod to prevent hand shake
i used a low ISO to control the exposure, a low shutter speed and a small aperture to control to control how much light enters the camera.
i then held down the shutter button and waved a light stick which gives it the affect of dragging the light.

CAMERA SETTINGS
ISO: 100
APERTURE: 13
SHUTTER SPEED: 2 Seconds
MODE: Bulb
EQUIPMENT USED:
Tripod
Camera
I found it difficult to keep the light within the frame of the camera.
What settings did you use to capture your light paintings, without being overexposed?
Using the bulb mode helped a lt as i was in complete control of the shutter speed and i could let the exact amount of light i wanted onto the camera senser.
this has helped my understanding of the exposure triangle because it has let me play around with the camera settings by doing this it has allowed me to have a very long shutter speed with a high aperture and a low iso.
What did you find difficult? How might you improve your light paintings?
How have you deepened your understanding of the exposure triangle?
